PARIS (June 12, 2025) — Carbyon had the exceptional honor of presenting to President Emmanuel Macron at VivaTechnology 2025, Europe’s leading tech and innovation event, held in Paris. His visit underscores the growing recognition at the highest levels of government for DAC as an essential tool in the fight against climate change.
During his visit, President Macron engaged with the Carbyon's CEO Hans De Neve to learn more about our Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology — an emerging solution to remove carbon dioxide (CO₂) directly from the atmosphere, and a key pillar in the global transition to net-zero emissions.
“It was a privilege to present our technology to President Macron. His interest in climate innovation sends a strong signal that carbon removal is not only necessary, but also politically relevant and gaining momentum at the highest levels.” - Hans De Neve, CEO and Founder of Carbyon
From the 13.500+ startups attending VivaTechnology, Carbyon was picked to pitch during Macron's short tour at the expo. Carbyon’s proprietary DAC technology is designed to capture CO₂ from the air with a revolutionary fast-swing technology, enabling scalable deployment across industries and geographies. The company’s mission is to create a gigaton-scale carbon removal solution to reverse climate change.
The visit comes at a time when carbon removal technologies are increasingly seen as critical complements to emissions reductions in achieving climate goals. Macron’s appeal to the Carbyon's technology not only highlights France’s commitment to cleantech, but also underscores Europe's growing leadership in supporting breakthrough climate solutions.
Carbyon is proud to be part of a movement that is reshaping how the world tackles the climate crisis — until we meet again!
